As part of our ESG focus areas, we are committed to developing and implementing a Group-wide social investment programme. A good leading example is the contributions made by ESR China to promoting sustainable development through the Qin Charity Foundation (QCF), a special fund which ESR is proud to be a partner since 2016. In partnership with China Red Cross and other organisations, QCF has vastly expanded access to modern educational opportunities for students in rural areas of China.
To date, the QCF’s “Future Classroom” project has been rolled out in over 100 schools nationwide, benefitting more than 80,000 teachers and students across 15 provinces and 40 municipalities. In 2022 we completed the construction of a Future Classroom in Mohe, one of China’s northernmost cities. This project strengthened our commitment to the communities in which we operate, with our donation of 14 bookshelves and 222 books. There are currently 107 Future Classrooms and 4,600 students who have attended training and activities organised by QCF.
